The Hawkeyes are far from a great team (barely beating Northern Iowa and Arkansas State). But if they go undefeated the rest of the way, they will probably be in the BCS Championship game.
White Sox 3B Gordon Beckham- no relation to Victoria Beckham- snags an award. I know, big deal. But, any good news for the White Sox is worth reporting. We get pics of Victoria and you can listen to Beckham's intro song: "Your Love" by The Outfield (not the Police!!!) !
In case you were considering watching any UFL (United Football League?) games, I have 4 words for you to consider:
1. The Bulls are 4-1 in the pre-season, largely without D-Rose. So I ask, does it mean anything?
2. Joakim Noah has been outstanding in the pre-season. Does it mean anything? Or does Noah (who did play better in the second half of last season) return to his pattern of one good game followed by three mediocre/crap games?
The Tigers were just giving it away (something like 11-16 down the stretch), and the Twins took advantage of it big time-and played great, especially after losing Morneau (c'mon, this proves it- you don't need him. Trade him away for some starting pitching!!). Plus just a little help from the White Sox- just a little. As I said before OC was a huge addition for the post-season push.
Congrats to HM, PM and RKG. Good for Crede (if he can get out of his hospital bed)!
Right now, Minnesota (yea-hey there!) is at the top of the sports world or pretty darn near there. Enjoy it while it lasts. (Yankees over Twins in 4)

(First order of business for owner Rush Limbaugh- Make sure we don't have any black quarterbacks on the team-they are all overrated. I'm just saying. Also you may to keep Rush away from the trainer's room and the team's painkillers. I'm just saying.)

Since the second game of the Twinkees-Tigers Twin-bill (hey, that sounds like an advantage for Minnesota to me, yah!) is on MLB Network tonite, I guess I will watch that. Detroit (just trying to GIVE AWAY the Central for last few weeks- the Tigers were lucky to win one out of three at the Cell this weekend. That's sad, you are fighting for your lives to hold on to first place and you only win one out of three from a team that has just been eliminated. Leyland must be up to 3 packs a day just about now!). Twins probably need 3 out of 4 in Detroit.
I guess we shall see who has the "Eye of the Tiger" after-all!
Twins may need some help from the White Sox this weekend, as Detroit finishes the regular season with a 3-game tilt against the ChiSox. Ozzie has stated that if the series means something in the division race, we shall see the regular starters.

ESPN is reporting that Cubs' pitcher Rich Harden, supposedly claimed on waivers by the Minnesota Twins, will remain with the Cubs this season.If the weather holds-up and I get all (or about half) my work done, I will be heading to Wrigley this afternoon to get my share of boos in on Milton Bradley!
